When our standard poodle was six months old, he dashed out onto the road and was struck by a vehicle. Several weeks and thousands of dollars later, he was fully recovered and ready to go dashing about again. I just wanted to let you know how pleased we are with our Invisible Fence®. Our 3 dogs are now fully integrated with the rest of the family. Invisible Fence® was just what we needed after we purchased our Black Labrador puppy. We live in a subdivision where fences are prohibited and we were frustrated by our inability to train our puppy to stay on the property. This is just a "wee note" to let you know how pleased I am with the performance of the Invisible Fencing® and the collar. The layout of this property is such that Sandy, the Golden Retriever and Celidh, the Chocolate Labrador Retriever, can disappear out of sight within a matter of seconds. We recently had Invisible Fence® representatives come and replace fencing that we had installed ourselves from XXXXXXX in 2002. The fence, after winter weather, continually had breaks in it. We had problems also with the collar not picking up the transmission. After the new fence wire was installed by Invisible Fence® (and I might add very professionally done) the old receiver wasn't receiving so we purchased another collar receiver from XXXXXX. After many phone calls with no reply the new collar still didn't work. There seems to be no method of contacting XXXXXX representatives in Canada or the USA with any hope of a return call. We contacted Invisible Fence® to return with their upgraded system. Our main reason for doing so is that assistance is only a phone call away. Samson & Delilah. Born in TO and left to fend for themselves on the street. We got them from the Humane Society. We tried to make them indoor cats. They should have been born on a farm. Our yard is approximately 5000 square feet. Delilah will get out through any hole a skunk digs under the fence and Samson feels compelled to patrol the outside of the fence. He can scale a board fence. We tried leashes and collars, harnesses and finally chose to call an expert. Ray and Linda had the answer to our problems and except for a few errors on our part the cats have been quite happy to stay home. Tia came into our life this past June. A beautiful, bouncy beagle, adopted after she was lost from her original owners. Picking her up at the rescue home, our only concern was if she would be good with our children. We got the Invisible Fence® in January of 2004. I didn't think it would work very well because I could only train our dog Ebony in a small part of our front yard because of the large quantities of snow. We did have the fence placed on top of the snow around the perimeter of our yard which is about 3/4 of an acre. But as soon as the snows melted and we were able to get into the backyard, Ebony had no problem learning her boundaries. We have 3 cats and have lost 3 others to the highway. We live right on a very busy highway with a lot of transport truck traffic. I was afraid Ebony would become a casualty very quickly because before we got the Invisible Fence® she had run up onto the highway several times and had luckily stopped the traffic. Short of chaining her up all day, which we didn't want to do, we were running out of options. Ebony is part Jack Russell and is very energetic and hyper. I didn't know how Invisible Fence® would be able to protect her, but I knew we had to give it a chance. I trained her exactly as I was shown and there's been no looking back. I can now go to town and leave her outside for hours at a time, while relaxing and knowing Ebony is home and safe, and still getting lots of fresh air and a good run. I'm the proud owner of 4 golden retrievers and live on a busy side road. To make a long story short, after I went through an ordinary dog fence, which gave cross signals (the dogs got shocked even in the house), I finally decided on the Original Invisible Fence® Dog Fence in 2002. the installation was done professionally in one day. We are very happy with the Invisible Fence® that you installed, as it allows our "best friend" the freedom to run freely on our property. Brutus, our German Shepherd "Puppy" is over 100 lbs now and even with the deep snow cover that we have, Brutus will not even consider challenging it.
